The experience

You operate the buggy yourself across scenic trails that connect five distinct stops along the coast. The ride starts at Mirante da Prainha, a lookout with views back toward the city, then moves to Pontal Beach where the Deck of the Turtles sits in clear water: a place to watch and swim. From there, a sharp turn into "Curvinha," a corner of the beach with warmer, shallow water and a heart-shaped prop for photos. The Red Lagoon comes next, a warm-water lagoon where fresh and salt water mix to create a reddish tint. You can bathe there and use the hammocks and swings for shots. The final stop is Big Beach, a 46-kilometer stretch that extends toward Saquarema, where you can swim, photograph the vastness or catch the sunset if you time the tour for late afternoon.

The guide is accredited and legalized, speaking Spanish or Portuguese. Transportation is private, so the buggy is yours for the full 2.5 hours. You pick your photo package at checkout: either iPhone 14 photos taken during the ride, or a professional shoot with a Nikon D7100 camera, a 28–35mm Sigma Art lens, dedicated flash and accessories. Both are included in the price. All fees and taxes are covered. Bring only yourself and a willingness to get wet.
