The experience
Klein Bonaire sits across the water from the main island and is only reachable by boat. The catamaran gets you there in a morning without needing a car or arranging separate transport. Once you arrive, you can drift snorkel the reefs, walk the sand, and take photos without the crowds that gather on the main island's shore. The boat itself is a 43-foot sailing catamaran, and Captain James, a USCG-certified operator, handles the helm while you settle in.
The meal and drinks are built around a preference sheet you fill out after booking, so the galley stocks your favorites (beer, wine, cocktails, sodas, juice), and the kitchen grills what you want to eat. Snorkeling equipment is provided, though you can bring your own. Towels and reef-safe sunscreen are on board, and there's a restroom. The whole outing runs 4.5 hours, which leaves the afternoon free for other plans on the island.
Because the charter is private and capped at six passengers, the pace and stops are yours to set. Once you book, the operator contacts you to finalize what the day looks like, which reefs to explore, how long to linger at Klein Bonaire, what time you want to eat. No fixed itinerary means no waiting for a group to catch up or move on.
