Snorkeling in Bermuda aboard the Good Vibrations catamaran combines sailing, swimming and snorkeling in one three-hour excursion. You sail to a secluded anchorage, then decide how to spend your time: snorkel the shallows, kayak away from the boat, paddleboard, swim or simply lounge on deck. One complimentary rum swizzle is included; additional drinks are available from the onboard bar for cash.

The Experience

The catamaran leaves with the sea breeze at your back, heading out through Bermuda's turquoise water to a spot where the boat can anchor and hold. Once there, the day becomes yours to shape. Snorkelers go in with provided equipment; swimmers dive off the platform; kayakers and paddleboarders get their own gear and room to roam. If you'd rather stay dry, the deck is yours — the boat moves slowly enough that you can watch the water and the people in it without moving. Three hours is long enough to try more than one thing, or to settle into one and do it properly.

The boat carries a live English-speaking guide and accepts children from age 3, though anyone snorkeling must be a competent swimmer in water deep enough that you cannot touch bottom. One rum swizzle comes with the ticket; the cash bar stocks additional drinks if you want them. The catamaran is Bermuda's newest, and the setup — multiple ways to be in the water, multiple ways to be on the boat — means the day works whether you came to snorkel hard or to float and talk. Weather and a minimum headcount determine whether the trip runs; public transport gets you to the departure point.

Is this one for you?The boat moves slowly and the anchorage is stationary, so the pace is entirely up to you — snorkel for an hour straight, try everything once, or spend most of the time on deck. Walking on and off via steps is required, and snorkeling demands confident swimming in deep water, but once you're anchored there's no further exertion unless you choose it.

What do I actually do once the boat anchors?

Once anchored at the secluded spot, you choose: snorkel with provided equipment, kayak or paddleboard away from the boat, swim off the platform, or stay on deck and relax. The boat stays put for the duration, so you can move between activities or stick with one.

Is snorkeling equipment included, or do I need to bring my own?

Snorkel gear, kayaks and paddleboards are all provided. You bring nothing except a swimsuit and a towel if you have one; the boat does not provide towels.

What's included to drink?

One complimentary rum swizzle is included with your ticket. The onboard bar sells additional drinks for cash only — no card payments accepted.

Can I bring my children, and what do they do on the boat?

Children are welcome from age 3. They can swim, paddleboard, kayak or snorkel depending on their swimming ability — anyone snorkeling must be a competent swimmer in deep water. Kids who don't want to go in the water can stay on deck.

How fit do I need to be to do this?

You should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness and be able to walk on and off the boat using steps. Snorkelers specifically must be strong swimmers comfortable in water where they cannot touch the bottom.
