The experience
You start at Rancho Lomas Farm and head into rainforest on a marked trail that crosses Silver Creek repeatedly as it climbs toward the falls. The hike takes about 90 minutes to reach the base of the five waterfalls, where the tallest drops roughly 100 feet and the smallest sits around 25 feet. The trail is maintained but steep in places, and you'll be wet most of the way: creek crossings are part of the route, not obstacles to avoid.
Once you reach the falls, the day shifts from hiking to water. You can swim in the natural pools beneath each cascade, stand under the falling water for what the operator calls an invigorating massage, or (if you're comfortable with it) cliff jump from designated spots into the deeper pools. The guide knows which jumps are safe and which ones to skip. Lunch happens at the base of the falls, and the operator provides all the gear you need: water, a first aid kit, and whatever equipment keeps you safe in the water and on the trail.
The return hike follows the same trail back down to the farm. Total time on the mountain is 6 hours, which includes the hike up, time at the falls, lunch, and the descent. You'll need to be comfortable hiking uphill, getting soaked, and moving over wet rocks. The operator recommends a high level of physical fitness and notes this is not suitable for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnancy, or cardiovascular concerns. Children are welcome from age 11 onward.
