ATV Riding Nassau: Drive Your Own Can-Am or Kawasaki
You drive the ATV, not a guide in a van—Nassau's forts and beaches unfold at your own throttle.
A 3–4 hour guided ATV tour in Nassau where you operate your own Can-Am Outlander or Kawasaki Brute Force, riding past Fort Charlotte, Government House, and the Queen's Staircase with a 45-minute beach stop. Every driver gets their own machine; couples and parents can share one ATV instead. The tour includes free pickup from hotels or the cruise port, a guide, helmet, samples at the Bahama Mama Factory and a rum distillery, and third-party liability insurance. Drivers must be 21 or older with a valid license.
Step-by-step itinerary
Guided ATV tour with beach stop
- Drive ATV through Nassau sights
- Visit historic Fort Charlotte
- See Queen's Staircase landmark
- Pass by Government House
- Sample food and drinks at Bahama Mama Factory
- Explore Tasty Teas Bahamas
- Tour rum estate and sample blends
- Relax and swim at beach stop
The Experience
What makes this different from a van tour is the machine itself—you're operating the ATV, not watching someone else drive. The tour runs 3 to 4 hours and covers Nassau's historical landmarks: Fort Charlotte, where you photograph original cannon guns with the Atlantic behind you; the Queen's Staircase, 66 limestone steps carved by hand between 1793 and 1794, set against green trees and a waterfall; and Government House, the official residence of the Governor General. A guide leads the route and narrates each stop, but the riding is yours.
The 45-minute beach stop is the centerpiece—not a quick photo moment but actual time to swim, wade or lie on sand with water clear enough to see through to your toes. Between the landmarks, the route passes multi-million-dollar waterfront homes visible across the harbor. You'll also stop at the Bahama Mama Factory, a local spot opened in 2021, where you sample the signature frozen Bahama Mama, conch fritters, and rare Dole Whip flavors; the rum distillery for a tasting of Caribbean blends; and Tasty Teas Bahamas, a handmade tea and body care shop in the historic Charles Towne area. Food and premium drinks are available for purchase at these stops if you want more than the samples.
Pickup is free from any Nassau hotel or directly from the cruise port—the tour location is a 20-minute walk from the port if you prefer to meet there. You choose at checkout whether to drive your own ATV or share one with a partner, spouse or child. Either way, the price is $129 per driver, and the helmet and insurance are included. Drivers must be at least 21 with a valid license; children can ride as passengers from age 5 on a shared ATV.

Is this one for you?Choose the 1 Person 1 ATV option if you want to ride solo and control the throttle yourself the whole way; pick the 2 Persons Share 1 ATV if you're traveling with a partner, spouse or child and want to experience the route together on one machine. Can I ride my own ATV or do I have to share?
You choose at checkout. The 1 Person 1 ATV option means you drive your own Can-Am Outlander or Kawasaki Brute Force the entire tour. The 2 Persons Share 1 ATV option is built for couples, parents with kids, or friends who want to ride together on one machine—one person drives while the other rides as a passenger.
What happens at the beach stop?
The beach stop lasts 45 minutes and is built into the route as actual downtime, not a rushed photo op. You can swim, wade, take photos or simply sit on the sand. The water is clear enough to see through to your toes.
What do the samples at the stops include?
Along the route you'll sample a frozen Bahama Mama, conch fritters, and rare Dole Whip flavors at the Bahama Mama Factory, plus rum blends at the distillery. These are included in the tour price. Full meals and premium drinks are available for purchase if you want more.
Is pickup from the cruise port really free?
Yes, free round-trip pickup is included if you're arriving from a cruise ship. The tour location is a 20-minute walk from Nassau Cruise Port, or the operator can arrange pickup from any hotel in Nassau at no extra charge.
What do I need to bring or know before I ride?
You must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license. The helmet is provided. You cannot use your phone to take pictures or record video while driving—it's a safety rule, and violation means removal from the tour with no refund. Moderate physical fitness is recommended; the tour is not suitable for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health, or pregnancy.
What if I damage the ATV?
The tour includes third-party liability insurance, which covers damage you cause to other people or property. Damage to the ATV itself is the driver's responsibility. If you're concerned about this, contact the operator before booking to discuss options.
