Four hours starts at your hotel with pickup and ends back there. The protection also means the reef life is thick: you'll see reef fish, blue gropers, rays, wobbegong sharks and octopus. Your guide stays in the water with you, pointing out what's moving in the rocks and explaining what you're looking at. Snorkel mask, fins and wetsuits are provided; the guide handles instruction if you need it.

After the reserve, you walk Coogee Beach to get a feel for Sydney's coastal rhythm — the rock pools, the promenade, the way the beaches connect. Then it's back to your hotel.
