Bondi Beach and Gordon's Bay Snorkel Tour Sydney: Small Group
Gordon's Bay dive tour: see wobbegong sharks and octopus in calm marine reserve waters
A four-hour small-group snorkel tour from Sydney hotels takes you to Bondi Beach first, then to Gordon's Bay in the Bondi to Coogee Aquatic Reserve, where you swim alongside reef fish, rays and wobbegong sharks in clear, sheltered water. Hotel pickup and drop-off, wetsuit, mask and fins are included; your guide provides snorkel instruction and shares the marine ecology as you explore. Coogee Beach follows for a walk along the coast. Children from age 8 are welcome.

The Experience
Four hours starts at your hotel with pickup and ends back there. The day opens at Bondi Beach, where you spend time swimming or simply taking in the views while your guide talks through the beach's history and what makes the coastline here work the way it does. It's the famous part of the day — golden sand, the energy of the place — but it's the setup for what comes next.
Gordon's Bay is where the snorkelling happens. It sits tucked between Coogee and Clovelly, inside the Bondi to Coogee Aquatic Reserve, a protected marine area that keeps the water calm and clear. The protection also means the reef life is thick: you'll see reef fish, blue gropers, rays, wobbegong sharks and octopus. Your guide stays in the water with you, pointing out what's moving in the rocks and explaining what you're looking at. Snorkel mask, fins and wetsuits are provided; the guide handles instruction if you need it.
After the reserve, you walk Coogee Beach to get a feel for Sydney's coastal rhythm — the rock pools, the promenade, the way the beaches connect. Then it's back to your hotel. Snacks, coffee and tea are included during the day, and the guide photographs you so you're not hunting for the camera while you're in the water.

Is this one for you?The tour moves at a steady pace with time in the water and time on the beach, so you're comfortable if you're a moderate swimmer and can walk between the sites. The small-group format means the guide can adjust the snorkel depth and pace to the group, which works well if you want instruction without the pressure of a larger crowd.

What kind of marine life will I see snorkelling at Gordon's Bay?
Gordon's Bay in the Bondi to Coogee Aquatic Reserve is home to reef fish, blue gropers, rays, wobbegong sharks and octopus. The protected status of the reserve keeps the water calm and clear, which is why the marine life is so visible and the snorkelling is reliable.
Do I need snorkelling experience to join this tour?
No prior experience is required. Your guide provides snorkel instruction in the water, and all equipment — mask, fins and wetsuit — is supplied. You do need at least a moderate level of physical fitness and should be comfortable in the ocean.
Is hotel pickup really included, or is there an extra charge?
Hotel pickup and drop-off from your Sydney accommodation are included in the tour price. The driver collects you and returns you at the end of the four hours, so you don't arrange separate transport.
Can children go on this tour?
Children are welcome from age 8 and up. They snorkel with the group and stay with the guide in the water.
What's the difference between Gordon's Bay and the other beaches on the tour?
Bondi Beach and Coogee Beach are open ocean beaches where you swim and relax. Gordon's Bay is a sheltered snorkelling site inside a protected marine reserve, with calm water, rich reef life and a guide pointing out what lives there. It's the active snorkelling part of the day.
