The day starts at 9:30 AM from the Tasmanian Visitor Information Centre in Hobart. You'll travel in an air-conditioned vehicle with a live English-speaking guide who provides commentary throughout the route. The tour visits four boutique cellar doors for guided tastings of Tasmanian wines, each stop offering a different perspective on the region's winemaking—from the rustic charm of heritage-listed Belmont Lodge to a cosy cellar door with stunning vistas.

Lunch happens at Puddleduck Vineyard, where you sample their acclaimed wines alongside a delightful lunch platter prepared by Darren and Jackie. Afterward, you stop at Wicked Cheese Co. for tastings of their award-winning boutique cheese. The tour then gives you free time in Richmond Village itself—enough to stroll through streets lined with unique boutiques and galleries, or to visit the Richmond Tasting House if you want to try local spirits. The village's colonial buildings include the iconic Richmond Bridge, the oldest bridge still in use in Australia, and the Richmond Gaol, which predates the well-known Port Arthur site.

The whole experience runs about 7.5 hours. You're in a small group of no more than 13 people, which keeps the tastings and the stops at each cellar door manageable. All wine tastings, lunch, and cheese tastings are included; you only pay separately if you choose to buy spirits at the Richmond Tasting House during your free time.
