A private surf lesson at Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast pairs you with one instructor for 90 minutes of one-on-one teaching in the water. The instructor tailors the session to your ability, watches your technique, and stays with you throughout. Wetsuit, board and sunscreen are provided. Children from age 6 are welcome.

The experience

Surfers Paradise is the Gold Coast's most beginner-friendly break, and a private lesson means the instructor can read what you need in real time instead of calling instructions to a group. You get the complete safety briefing and encouragement from someone in the water beside you, not shouting from the beach. The instructor targets the specific areas where your technique needs work (how you pop up, how you balance, how you angle the board), so you progress faster than you would alone or in a group class.

The lesson runs 90 minutes. You'll wear a provided wetsuit and use a provided board matched to your size and ability. Sunscreen is included. The instructor speaks English and works with anyone from age 6 upward. Younger children can attend with an adult. Public transport stops nearby if you're not driving, and service animals are welcome.
