The experience
Your day starts with a 45-minute boat ride on a man-made river system at Crocodylus Park, home to over 40 saltwater crocodiles including several 5-meter males. You'll watch them from the water and from a viewing platform, then hold a baby crocodile in your hands for a souvenir photo. The park visit is shorter than some alternatives, which leaves more time for Litchfield National Park itself: about 100 kilometers southwest of Darwin.
The tour moves through three separate swimming spots: Wangi Falls with its monsoon vine forest walk, Florence and Buley Rock Holes. A floating device and snorkel mask are provided. Between swims, you'll stop at the Magnetic and Cathedral Termite Mounds, where the guide explains how these structures align and what built them. You'll also pass Tolmer Falls lookout (seasonal, wet season only) and Cathedral Termite Mounds with guided viewing and tuition on the facts behind them. A cool drink and short break come before the 90-minute drive back to Darwin.
The group travels in an air-conditioned vehicle: either a minivan for up to 10 passengers or a coach for up to 21, depending on the booking. Your guide is a local English speaker who leads the entire day. Lunch, snacks and fruit are included. You'll need to bring the National Park Pass separately if required.
