The Experience

You walk through the doors of ArtVo and the space opens up around you—1400 square metres of hand-painted murals that don't sit behind velvet ropes or glass. A wild animal looms at eye level. A rocky crevasse drops away at your feet. A pipeline curves overhead like you're about to drop in. The eight themed zones pull you forward, each one designed so you stop, pose, and become part of the image itself. This isn't a gallery where you stand back and observe. You're meant to touch it, step into it, get your phone out.

The staff here actively want you taking photos—selfies, group shots, whatever. They'll help you frame the angle so everyone gets in the frame, or so you're alone with the art if that's what works. The murals are hyper-realistic and oversized enough that even small children and adults in wheelchairs can find a zone that works for them. You move at your own pace through each section, stopping as long as you want at the pieces that grab you. Some people spend an hour here, others two. There's no itinerary, no guide talking at you, no queue to manage once you're inside.

The Gold Coast location opened after ArtVo Melbourne became one of the city's busiest attractions, so the team knows how to build a space that works for families, friend groups, and couples looking for something different to do.
