The experience
The harness, helmet and all safety equipment come with you from the moment you arrive at Treetops Adventure Centre. After morning tea and a full briefing, you clip in and move through the canopy on a 2-hour course designed through the oldest rainforest on Earth. The guides manage the pace and handle the technical side. You operate the equipment and move between platforms suspended in the trees. Once you're back on the ground, lunch is served at a rainforest retreat where the group trades stories about the run.
The day does not end in the trees. After lunch, a 1-hour crocodile and wildlife cruise takes you onto the Daintree River to spot saltwater crocodiles, birdlife and the mangrove ecosystem that feeds them. You walk Cape Tribulation Beach, where the rainforest edge meets the reef line, and stop at Alexandra Lookout for the view across the region. The Daintree Ice Cream Company sits at the end of the day if you want to buy a scoop made from tropical fruit grown on the property. It is not included but the stop is built in.
Your guide collects you from your Port Douglas accommodation at 7:30am and drives an air-conditioned vehicle across the Daintree River ferry. The return lands back in Port Douglas around 5pm. Morning tea, lunch, all ziplining safety gear, and the commentary throughout are included. Additional drinks can be purchased on the day.

Is this one for you?You operate the ziplining equipment yourself rather than watch it happen, so this suits anyone who wants to move through the canopy actively rather than observe from below. The full day is shared with other guests and follows a fixed schedule, which keeps all three major stops (the rainforest, the river and the beach) inside one departure and one return time.
