The Experience
The day starts with hotel pickup from Port Douglas and heads into the ancient rainforest. A guide leads you through Mossman Gorge, where water runs clear over giant boulders and the forest closes in around you—the guide points out the flora and fauna as you walk. You'll stop in Daintree village for morning tea and a short look around before moving to the river.
The one-hour Daintree River cruise is where the wildlife spotting happens. You're on the water looking for the animals that live here—crocodiles, birds, and whatever else moves in the trees along the bank. Lunch is provided during or after the cruise. National Park fees are included in the price, so there's nothing extra to pay at the gate.
If you want to add the Port Douglas Wildlife Habitat to your day, you can choose that option at checkout—it's not automatic, so decide before you book. The whole tour runs about five hours, and the air-conditioned vehicle means you're not walking the whole time. Groups stay small, capped at 20 people, so it doesn't feel like a cattle run through the forest.
