The experience
You're picked up from your hotel, cruise port, or vacation rental and climb into a red Wrangler with an air-conditioned cabin. Your guide is a local who knows the island's stories and can speak English, Spanish, or German. The tour runs four to five hours, and because it's private, you set the rhythm. You might spend an extra twenty minutes at one stop or skip another entirely: the guide adjusts as you go.
The route takes you to Bushiribana Gold Mill Ruins, where you walk among the remains of a 19th-century gold operation on the northern coast. From there, you head to Ayo Rock Formations, where massive boulders rise from the landscape and ancient rock carvings left by Aruba's first inhabitants are still visible. At Starfish Point, a sheltered cove with turquoise water and just a few stone steps down to the shore, you can snorkel and search for sea turtles. They're often spotted here. You'll also pass the "I LOVE ARUBA" sign near Oranjestad, a laid-back beach spot where you can stop for a quick walk or grab a local snack if time allows. The tour includes beach chairs and a palapa for shade, cold refreshments in an iced cooler, local snacks like pastechi, and a taste of local beer such as Magic Mango or Balashi.
The Jeep seats up to four comfortably, so you travel with whoever you came with: no strangers, no set group pace. Infants can ride in a stroller or on an adult's lap, and the tour suits all fitness levels. Wi-Fi is available on board if you need to stay connected between stops.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish and German.
What are the Ayo Rock Formations and what will I see there?
Ayo Rock Formations are massive boulders scattered across the landscape in central Aruba, marking the area where the island's first inhabitants lived. You'll see scenic viewpoints and historic rock carvings still visible on the stones, giving a glimpse into the island's pre-Columbian past.
Can I actually snorkel and find sea turtles at Starfish Point?
Starfish Point is a sheltered cove with calm, turquoise water and a coral reef just off the shore. Sea turtles are often spotted here, and you can snorkel through tunnels of coral reef. The entry is easy (just a few stone steps down to the water), so it's accessible even for casual snorkelers.
What happens if I want to skip a stop or spend longer at one place?
Because this is a private tour, you customize the itinerary with your guide. You can skip stops that don't interest you, linger longer at places you love, or ask to visit a different beach or viewpoint instead. The four- to five-hour window is flexible around your choices.
Is snorkel gear provided, or do I need to bring my own?
Snorkel equipment is not included with this tour. Bring your own mask, fins, and snorkel, or arrange rental separately before the tour begins.
Where does the tour pick me up?
Pickup is included from your hotel, cruise port, or vacation rental anywhere on the island. Confirm your location when you book, and your guide will collect you at the agreed time.
