The experience

You arrive at the dock with a few hours free and no plan to fill them. A private captain meets you, walks you onto a pontoon boat, and heads straight to Nos Isla's reef. The water is clear enough that you see the coral and fish the moment you put your head down. After snorkeling the reef, the captain takes you to a reef island where you have a shack to yourself: no crowds, no schedule except the one you set. You can snorkel among the mangroves, paddle board through them, or simply sit and watch the water. The captain stays with you the whole time.

Everything you need is already on the boat: snorkeling gear, a paddle board, water, sodas, chips, and one drink of your choice from the bar. Watershoes are included so you can walk the shallows without cutting your feet. There's a toilet on the island. If you want music while you're on the water, bring your phone. The boat has a JBL speaker. The mangrove tour happens on foot around the island, and the captain leads it. Three hours is enough time to snorkel, paddle, explore the mangroves, and still have time to float and do nothing.

Your captain speaks English, Spanish or Dutch. The boat is yours alone: no strangers, no other groups, no waiting for anyone else to finish. The whole point is that you and whoever came with you get the reef, the mangroves, and the island the way you want it.
