The experience
The tour starts with pickup from your hotel and a drive to Tsakhkadzor, Armenia's most popular ski resort. There you operate the zipline yourself (a 1,000-meter run across the mountain), and ride the ropeway that climbs more than 2,000 meters for views across the range. You also visit Kecharis monastery on the grounds. A professional driver with years of tourism experience handles the route and timing. The whole stop takes up a portion of your afternoon.
The second half moves to Lake Sevan, a volcanic lake sitting 1,900 meters above sea level. Sevanavank monastery, built in the 9th century, stands on a peninsula jutting into the water and offers views across the lake. In summer, swimming is possible. Year-round, local fish and seafood are available at restaurants near the shore. The tour accommodates 1 to 6 passengers in a single vehicle, so families and small groups travel together without joining strangers.
Winter visits require very warm clothing. The mountain air is significantly colder than lower elevations. The route is wheelchair accessible, and infants can travel in a pram or specialized seat. Public transportation runs nearby if you prefer to arrange your own way back, though the private transfer is included in your booking.
