The experience
Route 7 climbs from the foothills through Cacheuta toward the high peaks, and the tour breaks the drive into stops that matter. Breakfast happens at a local café in Uspallata. Lunch comes later at a typical mountain restaurant. In between, you walk 200 to 500 meters from the Aconcagua Park entrance to the viewpoint (easy terrain, no scrambling), and pause at Puente del Inca for photos. The Potrerillos Dam marks the start of the pre-Cordillera section on the way up.
The vehicle is air-conditioned and holds your group alone, so there's no waiting for other passengers or adjusting to a stranger's pace. Pickup happens at your hotel, and you return between 4 and 5 p.m. The guide knows the region and speaks your language. Children from age 5 travel comfortably. Bring a jacket and dark glasses: the altitude and the glare off the rock are real.
