The experience

The day starts with a 4x4 crossing of Cerro Archo to reach the launch site at 1,650 meters. You're strapped into a harness alongside a licensed instructor pilot who manages the flight and the landing. Your job is to stay still and take in the view. The climb up the mountain in the van is part of the experience. It gives you time to settle into what's about to happen and to see the terrain you're about to fly over.

Once airborne, you spend about 25 minutes gliding over the Mendocina mountains with panoramic views across the valley. The instructor controls the wing and the descent. You experience the flight itself. A photographer or videographer captures the moment in HD, so you have proof of what you did and a record of the landscape below. Children from age 5 can make the flight, and infants sit on an adult's lap during the van ride.
