The Experience

Your day starts with pickup from your Buenos Aires hotel between 4 and 6:30 AM (if you book the flight option), then a private transfer to the airport. The flight to Puerto Iguazu takes the morning rush out of the equation—you land and a guide meets you for the short drive into Iguazu National Park, where the sound of water already fills the air. Before the trails begin, your guide walks you through the park layout and the best vantage points, so you know what you're heading toward.

The park itself unfolds in two circuits. The Lower Circuit takes you along walkways hemmed in by jungle, dropping you closer to the water's force and spray—this is where the energy hits hardest. Between them you'll have lunch at El Fortín, a restaurant inside the park where you can sit and let the sound of the falls settle in. Then comes the Great Adventure: a specially built 4x4 carries you deeper into the missionary jungle on natural trails while your guide talks through the flora, fauna and the park's history. The vehicle then delivers you to the boat launch.

The boat ride is the day's centerpiece. You travel upriver past minor cascades and towering rock walls, the sound building as you approach the main falls. The boat cuts close enough that you will get wet—the mist and the force of the water are not something you watch from a distance. After that, you visit the Devil's Throat from the catwalk, standing meters from the most famous jump in the park.
