The experience
The tour starts with a 2-hour flight from Buenos Aires to Bariloche, where you're transferred to your hotel. Your first day is unscheduled: time to walk the town, visit the waterfront, or rest after travel. The real exploration begins on day two with the Circuito Chico, a half-day loop that's considered the essential Bariloche introduction. You'll drive along Av. Bustillo bordering Lake Nahuel Huapi, pass Playa Bonita and the Huemul island, then ride a chairlift up Cerro Campanario (1,050 meters) for views across Nahuel Huapi and Perito Moreno lakes, the Llao Llao Hotel, and the surrounding peaks. The route continues past the San Eduardo Chapel and Pañuelo Port, crossing the Narrows Bridge where two lakes meet.
Day three is a full-day excursion to Mount Tronador, the park's highest peak. After hotel pickup, you'll follow Route 258 skirting the Gutiérrez and Mascardi lakes, cross the Manso River bridge, and stop for lunch at Pampa Linda. A short walk leads through a forest of coihues trees to the Black Glacier. The itinerary ends at the foot of Tronador itself, where the Manso River originates. The peak has three summits (International at 3,554 meters, Argentinian at 3,200 meters, and Chilean at 3,320 meters). An optional variation includes a detour to the Cascada de Los Alerces waterfall before the main Manso crossing. Note that the road beyond Lake Mascardi is unpaved and may close in winter. Check conditions locally before departure.
Your guide speaks English or Spanish and travels with the group throughout the tours. Accommodation is 3 nights in either a 3-star or 4-star hotel, chosen at checkout. The final morning includes breakfast and transfer back to the airport for your return flight to Buenos Aires. Each traveler may bring one suitcase (33 lb maximum) and one carry-on bag. Oversized luggage requires operator approval before booking.

Is this one for you?Choose the 4-day length if you want two full guided excursions without rushing: the Circuito Chico and Tronador tours need separate days to cover the lakes, peaks and walking sections. A shorter trip would compress these into one day or skip one entirely. This length lets you see both landmarks without backtracking.
