The experience

Falmouth harbor is the launch point. After a short theory session on land and a practical run in the shallows, you're on the board for the full 2.5-hour ride. The Flite Board has handlebars for balance and sits low enough that falling off is part of learning. The water is your cushion, and the chase boat is always within sight. You'll cruise past the super yachts anchored in the harbor, then head to Pigeon Beach and out to the reef for snorkeling. The board is quiet and electric, nothing like a jet ski. The sensation is closer to gliding.

The chase boat carries your snorkeling equipment, bottled water and an instructor who speaks English, Spanish, French, German or one additional language. If you need a break (to rest, to warm up, to hand off the board), the boat is there. Children from age 12 are welcome. The operator notes the activity is wheelchair accessible and suitable for all fitness levels, though it's not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health or pregnancy.
