Safari with High Tea in Chamabondo National Park: 4x4 game drive
Open 4x4 through the savannah, then high tea at a waterhole
A guided game drive through Chamabondo National Park near Victoria Falls combines wildlife spotting in an open 4x4 with a catered English high tea break at a hideout overlooking a waterhole. A licensed guide handles all park formalities and leads the search for elephants, lions, buffalo, zebra, leopards and antelope across untouched savannah. The route shifts with animal movement, so no two drives are the same.

The experience
The 4x4 leaves your hotel and heads straight into Chamabondo, where a licensed guide takes the wheel through open savannah with no fixed route. The vehicle's open sides let you scan the landscape for wildlife movement, and the guide reads the terrain to chase sightings (elephants, lions, buffalo, zebra, leopards, antelope) as they appear. Park formalities are handled before you go, so the drive starts clean.
Midway through, you stop at a hideout overlooking a waterhole for English high tea: bisquits, sandwiches, a variety of fruits, Tanganda tea and water, all catered by the Victoria Falls Hotel. The waterhole draws animals to drink, so you watch the savannah from a safe vantage while you eat. The hideout keeps the experience grounded in the bush rather than pulled back to a lodge.
The drive continues through the sunset-drenched savannah before returning to your hotel. Three hours total, but the route and timing shift with what the guide finds, so each departure is shaped by the day's wildlife.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Youth (11 to 17 years); Child (3 to 10 years); Infant (under 3): free.
What animals am I likely to see on the game drive through Chamabondo?
Elephants, lions, buffalo, zebra, leopards and a variety of antelope roam the park. The guide tracks movement across the savannah and adjusts the route to follow sightings, so what you encounter depends on where the animals are on the day you go.
How does the high tea work during the safari?
You stop at a hideout overlooking a waterhole for the tea break, where the Victoria Falls Hotel provides bisquits, sandwiches, fresh fruit, Tanganda tea and water. The waterhole location means you can watch animals drink while you eat.
Is the 4x4 open or enclosed?
The game viewer vehicle is open-sided, which gives you an unobstructed view of the savannah and lets the guide spot wildlife more easily. The open design is standard for safari drives in the region.
What happens if we don't see many animals?
The guide has no fixed route and follows wildlife movement, so sightings vary by day and season. The licensed guide's knowledge of animal behavior and terrain helps maximize your chances, but wildlife spotting is never guaranteed on any safari.
Do I need to arrange park entry separately?
No. All park formalities are handled as part of the booking, so you arrive at your hotel ready to go without extra paperwork or stops.
