The experience
The tour starts with a mid-morning transfer from Victoria Falls to Iganyane, where you'll check in and brief with your guide before the first afternoon game drive at 3pm. Days two and three follow the same rhythm: an early morning drive (when predators are most active), lunch at a platform overlooking a waterhole in the park, then an afternoon drive until 4pm. Your guide decides whether to run a full day or split the morning and afternoon, and chooses between Hwange's main camp and private concessions based on where wildlife is moving that season. On the final morning you'll do one last game drive, check out at 10am, and transfer back to Victoria Falls by 10:30am. Either to the airport or your hotel.
Hwange National Park spans 14,651 square kilometers and holds roughly 44,000 elephants, the largest population in Africa. The park also hosts about 100 mammal species and 400 bird species, including buffaloes, giraffes, lions, leopards, cheetahs, sable, wildebeest, wild dogs and impala. The eastern sections became known as the former territory of Cecil the lion and remain excellent for spotting big cats. The park's infrastructure supports both quieter trails and established safari routes, so your guide can adapt the drives to what's moving and where.
All meals, accommodation at the tented camp, the air-conditioned vehicle, national park fees and return transfers from Victoria Falls are included. Coffee and tea are provided. Bring your own drinks if you prefer something beyond what's offered at meals.
