The Experience
You'll meet at the Bearded Men Adventures Hub, where the team outfits you with a wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet—everything you need is provided. After changing into your gear, you board a bus that takes you upstream to Horseshoe Falls, the starting point for the run. Before you push off, a guide walks through the safety briefing and teaches you the paddling techniques you'll use to move through the rapids.
Once on the water, your guide stays in the raft with you for the full three hours, calling out the strokes and steering you through the whitewater. You'll hit surf holes, bounce through waves and tackle the river's famous rapids. The guide introduces raft games and challenges along the way—and if a flip happens, it's part of the plan and happens safely. The pace is built around paddling hard when the river demands it and reading the water as you go.
Children from age 8 are welcome, and the activity suits all fitness levels. The three-hour window includes the bus ride to the start, the safety briefing, paddling instruction and the run itself, so plan the rest of your day around that block of time.
