The Experience

You arrive at the riverside centre, get outfitted in thick 4-season wetsuits and full safety equipment, and sit through a brief instructional session before a bus takes you upriver. Then the water starts: 9 cumecs of mountain flow cascading through Snowdonia's ancient woodland, grade 3-4 rapids stacked back-to-back with almost no flat stretches between them.

Over three descents you play, freestyle and surf down the same fast, clean whitewater, each run building in excitement and challenge. The guides have international whitewater experience and give you time to feel the power of the rapids — to surf back into huge features, laugh, scream, and get thoroughly soaked. On a rainy day, the weather becomes irrelevant; on a hot day, nothing feels fresher than punching through rapid after rapid. The whole session runs about two hours from start to finish.
