The experience
The day runs from mid-morning to late afternoon, starting with a pickup at your hotel and a drive to My Tho and Ben Tre. Once you reach the river, you board a motorboat for a leisurely ride on the Tien, watching the daily life of local people unfold along the banks: stilt houses, fishing floating farms, the four islands. At the honey farm, you stop for honey tea and listen to traditional Vietnamese music before moving on to the coconut candy village, where you'll see how every part of the coconut becomes oil, candy, soap, drink or even building material.
Back on the bus, you head to Ben Luc Village and a family-run garden where a chef walks you through making simple signature Vietnamese dishes. You then sit down to a barbecue lunch under the coconut trees, with time to rest in hammocks afterward. The afternoon shifts to a bike ride through the same village: orchards of dragon fruit, grapefruit, oranges and guava, with rice fields opening up around you. The tour ends with a return drive to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving around 5 p.m.
The group stays small, and an English-speaking guide stays with you the whole way. You'll get tropical fruits, honey tea and coconut candy throughout the day, plus a bottle of mineral water. The kayaking happens on the river itself during the boat portion. You'll paddle a rowboat as part of the Tien River experience, not as a separate leg.
Is this one for you?Hotel pickup means you don't need a car or arrange your own transport to the delta. The bus collects you in the morning and brings you back by evening, so the whole day works whether you're staying in the city or elsewhere without wheels.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (4 to 9 years); Infant (under 4): free.
What's the coconut workshop actually like, and what do you see being made there?
The coconut candy village shows you the full cycle: coconut processing into oil, candy, soap and drinks, plus how the shell and fiber become building materials. You watch the work happen and taste the candy made on-site.
How much time do you spend actually kayaking or paddling on the water?
The boat portion of the day includes both motorboat and rowboat rides on the Tien River. The rowboat paddling is woven into the river exploration. You'll move between the stilt houses, fishing farms and islands by both motorboat and your own paddle.
Is the cooking class hands-on, or do you watch a demonstration?
You join a cooking demonstration where the chef guides you through making simple signature Vietnamese dishes, then you eat what's prepared as part of your barbecue lunch.
What kind of bike ride is this? How far and how difficult?
The afternoon bike ride explores the village and its orchards, passing through dragon fruit, grapefruit, orange and guava trees, then out to the rice fields. It's a village-pace ride, not a distance or endurance event, and the tour is suitable for all fitness levels.
What tropical fruits will I actually get to try during the day?
You'll sample dragon fruit, grapefruit, oranges, guava and other seasonal fruits from the orchards you visit, plus honey tea at the honey farm and coconut candy at the village workshop.
