The experience

The ride begins at your hotel and heads out on flat roads through rice paddies for about an hour. You'll pass duck farms where thousands of birds swim in channels or cross directly in front of you, then stop at Thanh Toan Bridge in Thuy Thanh village. This covered bridge, built in the 18th century, is an architectural landmark where you can step off the bike and walk through the structure, seeing how it was constructed and learning about its place in local history.

From there you continue riding toward An Bang Village with mountains in the distance and tree-lined roads. This village is unusual in Vietnam: many residents received financial support from family members who left the country after the Vietnam War, including those who escaped by boat. Rather than spending on everyday needs, villagers invested heavily in their homes and, more notably, in colossal tombs and temples. These structures blend Confucian, Buddhist and Catholic influences and stand out for their fine colorful architecture. You'll ride through the village to see them, then stop at Thuy Tu lagoon for an authentic local lunch before either cycling back or taking the van transfer to your hotel.

The tour includes a mountain bike (Giant or Trek), helmet, a support person on the route, a mechanic with repair tools, basic first aid, landing and facility fees, lunch and the van return. You'll need to be at least 12 years old. The guide speaks English throughout.
