Your guide will take you through one of four routes depending on what you want to see: the Independence Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral and Central Post Office in the city center; Ba Thien Hau Temple, Ong Bon Pagoda and Father Tam Church in Chinatown; or the alleys and cafes (Cheo Leo, Do Phu, the Secret Weapon Cellar, Tan Dinh Church) that locals actually know. The city is 300 years old and layered with stories a student who grew up here can tell differently than a guide reading from a script.

If you choose the night food option, the tour moves through Ho Thi Ky Flower Market and the Nguyen Thien Thuat apartment buildings, stopping at street food stalls where vendors have spent decades on a single dish. You see how the food is made and taste it while it's still warm, which is how you understand a city's history and culture, not from a plaque but from what people eat and why.
