Four hours: cook, taste, and learn the cultural roots of Vietnamese food

A hands-on cooking class in Hanoi where you select and prepare 2 signature Vietnamese dishes in a join-in session, or 5 dishes if you book private. The class takes place in a hidden garden villa with air-conditioned comfort, includes all ingredients and tools, and ends with a traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony where a cultural storyteller explains the meaning behind each dish and tea. Every booking supports community programs: monthly charity meals for cancer patients, educational initiatives for disadvantaged children, and employment for ethnic minority women.

The Experience

You arrive at a hidden garden villa in Hanoi and choose which dishes to cook from a menu that includes Bánh Xèo (crispy Vietnamese pancake), Bún Chả (grilled pork with vermicelli), Phở, Green Papaya Salad, Banana Flower Salad, and Vietnamese coffee. A butler greets you with a complimentary herbal welcome drink, then a cultural storyteller fluent in English walks you through each step. In a join-in session, you cook 2 dishes alongside other guests; if you book private, your group prepares 5 dishes and gets the full personalized experience. All ingredients, utensils, and guidance are there—you bring curiosity and leave with the skill to make these dishes at home.

After cooking, you sit down to a full meal (lunch or dinner depending on your time slot) and move into a traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony. The storyteller reveals the cultural significance of tea in Vietnamese life and the stories woven into each dish you just made. The villa's air-conditioned garden setting keeps the atmosphere calm and focused, and you can store luggage worry-free during the class. The whole experience runs four hours.

Your booking directly funds meaningful work: monthly charity meals for cancer patients, educational programs for disadvantaged children in remote regions, and sustainable employment for ethnic minority women who work as butlers during the class. The villa operates with an eco-friendly setup—stainless-steel containers and canvas bags, no plastic.
