The experience

You're picked up directly from Chan May Port or Tien Sa Port at a time you set to fit your cruise schedule. Your private car and English-speaking guide take you first to Marble Mountains, five limestone and marble hills named after the five elements: Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth. You explore natural caves carved into the rock, visit a holy pagoda, and climb to viewpoints overlooking Da Nang city and the ocean. From there, the route passes the Dragon Bridge, a steel structure shaped like a long dragon that locals say symbolizes power and good fortune. You stop to photograph it and see the modern Da Nang skyline.

The second half of the day is a guided walking tour through Hoi An's ancient old town, a UNESCO World Heritage site that has remained largely unchanged for centuries. Your guide walks you through the back alleys and explains the history and architecture of the Japanese Covered Bridge (the town's most recognizable landmark), a traditional wooden house, a Chinese Assembly Hall, and the central market.
