A seven to eight hour tour of Da Lat and its countryside visits Datanla Falls, Pongour Falls and Elephant Falls, plus a lake surrounded by pine forest, a cricket farm, a bee farm, Buddhist temples and a coffee plantation. The Experience

The tour runs seven to eight hours and starts with pickup from your hotel. You'll head to Datanla Falls first, where pine trees cover the waterfall and an alpine coaster or zipline lets you descend into the canyon if you want to. From there the route takes you to a lake about forty square kilometers across, ringed by pine forest and known locally as the paradise lake or the lake of the dragon—a stop built for photos and sitting with the view. The guide walks with you at each place, helping with photos and explaining what you're standing in front of.

Pongour Falls is the largest waterfall in southern Vietnam, discovered by the last king and named for the horn of a rhino; the guide will tell you the legend. Elephant Falls comes next, the strongest and most dramatic of the three, and you may see a rainbow or get wet depending on the water level and where you stand. Both stops let you move at your own pace while the guide stays nearby.

The afternoon shifts to local food and farming. At a cricket farm, the guide explains the insects' life cycle and you can drink "happy water"—a local spirit. At a bee farm, you'll taste honey, pollen and royal jelly straight from the source and learn how the bees work. Two Buddhist temples round out the cultural stops: one with a large lady Buddha statue, the other with a big happy Buddha, and the guide shares details about Buddhism at each. The tour ends at a coffee plantation where the guide talks through how the coffee grows and is processed, and you can order a cup of local coffee to drink before heading back to your hotel.
