The Experience
The day starts with pickup from your Hue hotel at 7:30 and a drive to the Bach Ma foothills. At the Gallery House near the park entrance, the guide walks you through the park's ecosystem and biodiversity before the trek begins. A short 500-meter warm-up trail at KM12 gets you acclimated to the highland air, then a five-kilometer motorbike ride with professional staff takes you to the actual trekking point—this saves the legs for the main trek and is part of how the day fits so much into a morning and afternoon.
The core trek heads into deep jungle toward Five Lakes, where you swim in mountain lagoons and eat a picnic lunch by the water. From there the route continues to Do Quyen Fall, a 300-meter cascade with a Lady Buddha statue tucked into the jungle nearby. The final push climbs to Hai Vong Dai at 1,450 meters, where you stop for tea or coffee and take in 360-degree views across three provinces. The descent and return to Hue takes the afternoon, with drop-off at your hotel by 5:30.
The trek covers 7–8 kilometers at a moderate pace and requires good physical fitness; the guide is English-speaking and stays with the group throughout. Transport, park fees, insurance, lunch and water are all arranged in advance, so you arrive with trekking shoes, swimwear and a towel and nothing else to organize.

What is the Five Lakes stop like during the trek?
Five Lakes is a deep-jungle swim stop where mountain lagoons sit among the highland forest. You swim in the water and eat the picnic lunch there before continuing toward the waterfall and summit.
How long is the actual walking on this trek?
The trek itself covers 7–8 kilometers at a moderate pace. The full day is about 10 hours from hotel pickup to drop-off, but that includes the drive to and from Hue, the motorbike transfer to the trailhead, and stops for lunch and the summit views.
Do I need my own trekking gear or is anything provided?
Bring your own trekking shoes, swimwear and towel. Transport, guide, park entry, lunch, drinks and insurance are all included; you don't need to arrange or pay for those separately.
Can children do this trek?
Children from age 4 can join the tour. The moderate difficulty and the motorbike transfer to the trailhead make it accessible for younger trekkers, though they should be comfortable walking several kilometers and swimming in open water.
What is Hai Vong Dai summit like?
Hai Vong Dai sits at 1,450 meters and offers 360-degree panoramic views across three provinces. The guide stops there for tea or coffee before the descent back toward Hue.
What time does the tour end and how do I get back to my hotel?
The tour ends with hotel drop-off around 5:30 p.m. The same driver who picked you up in the morning brings you back to your Hue hotel, so transport is arranged both ways.
