The Experience
The tour starts with pickup from your hotel in Hue, Da Nang or Hoi An, then meets your guide at the Bach Ma information center by mid-morning. The first day is a steady trek through the national park's biodiversity, with a swimming break at Ngu Ho—a serene pool where the water stays cool even in midday heat. After a picnic lunch, you continue uphill to Do Quyen Waterfall, a 300-meter drop named for the rhododendron flowers that bloom on the mountainside. By mid-afternoon you reach Thong Nang Campsite, where your guide and support staff have set up camp and prepared dinner. The evening is a campfire meal and rest after the day's climbing; an optional night hike to Hai Vong Dai for a sky view is available for an extra charge.
The second morning starts at 5:30 a.m. with tea and meditation as the forest wakes—birdsong, wind through the canopy, streams running downhill. Breakfast follows, then a gentle walk out of the park and return to your hotel by 9 a.m. Tents sleep up to four people each, and the campsite has no electricity or running water; the experience is deliberately stripped down to the mountain itself. All meals are included: the picnic lunch on day one, a restaurant lunch, BBQ dinner at camp, breakfast, and morning tea. You get bottled water throughout, an air-conditioned vehicle for the drive, and an experienced English-speaking guide.

Is this one for you?Book the Hue departure if you are based there or want the shortest drive; choose Da Nang or Hoi An if you are staying on the coast and prefer a longer morning pickup window. Either way, the two-day format means you sleep in the forest and return by mid-morning on day two, so the trek fits into a longer trip without eating a full day of travel.

How high is Do Quyen Waterfall and what is the swimming like there?
Do Quyen Waterfall drops 300 meters and is named for the rhododendron flowers on the mountainside. The waterfall itself is the destination of the trek; swimming happens at Ngu Ho earlier in the day, where the water is cool and the pool is sheltered by forest.
What is Thong Nang Campsite like and what do the tents include?
Thong Nang Campsite is a basic mountain camp with no electricity or running water—the point is to sleep in the forest canopy and wake to the sounds of the park. Each tent sleeps up to four people and is provided by the tour; you bring your own sleeping bag or ask the guide about rentals.
Can I book this tour if I'm starting from Da Nang or Hoi An instead of Hue?
Yes. Pickup runs from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. in Hoi An or Da Nang, then continues to Hue for guests joining there, with the guide meeting everyone at the Bach Ma information center by 9:30 a.m.
What meals are included and when do we eat?
Meals include a picnic lunch on day one, a restaurant lunch, BBQ dinner at the campsite, breakfast on day two, and morning tea with meditation. Dinner and the campfire happen after the trek on day one; breakfast and tea are before the walk out on day two.
What fitness level do I need for this trek?
The tour requires at least a moderate level of physical fitness because of the uphill trekking to the waterfall and the camping setup. It is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health, or pregnancy.
Is the guide English-speaking and what does the guide do?
Yes, the guide speaks English and leads the trek, explains the park's biodiversity, manages the campsite, and prepares meals with support staff. The guide is experienced and included in the tour price.
