The experience
Your guide meets you at the port with a board bearing your name, then drives you to Ba Na Hills. The cable car (recognized by Guinness World Records as the longest in the world at over 5,000 meters) carries you up to the hilltop complex. You walk through the Flower Garden, visit Linh Ung Pagoda, and stand between the Giant Hands of the Golden Bridge, a structure that has become the symbol of the site. Your guide explains the history and helps you find the best angles for photos. After descending by cable car, you return to the car for lunch at a local restaurant.
The afternoon takes you to Hoi An Ancient City, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1999. You explore the Fujian Assembly Hall, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, and the Tan Ky Ancient Commercial House, walking through narrow streets lined with 17th- to 19th-century architecture that reflects Chinese, Japanese and French influences. A visit to the local market rounds out the cultural stops. Your driver brings you back to the ship at least an hour before departure.
