The experience

The drive out takes you past rice paddies and coastal views before you start hiking. The three waterfalls at Ba Ho have been left largely untouched. Just arrow pointers guide you over and around the rocks to reach each cascade. Each waterfall varies in how easy it is to reach, and you can swim at all three. The guide sets the pace and stays with the group the whole way.

After hiking to the top of the falls, you get time to swim and soak in the mineral hot spring before heading back. Lunch is provided partway through the day. The full outing runs about seven hours from pickup to drop-off, so you leave early and return with time left in the afternoon. An air-conditioned car collects you from your hotel and brings you back, and the guide carries a first-aid kit and water for the group.
