The experience

The jeep picks you up from your Mui Ne hotel and heads straight to White Sand Dunes, where you have the choice to rent an ATV and ride it yourself across the sand for about 20 minutes, or stay in the jeep for the Jeep Safari experience instead. Both let you catch the sunrise and photograph the dunes. The ATV rental costs 800,000 VND per bike if you go alone, or 300,000 VND per person if you share one.

After the dunes, the route stops at a stretch of coastal road lined with colorful jeeps for photos, then moves on to Red Sand Dunes where you can try sandboarding on the rust-colored slopes. The driver speaks English and carries cold drinks and juice or smoothies for the ride. Next is Mui Ne Fishing Village, where you walk among hundreds of basket boats and watch the daily work of local fishermen. The final stop is Fairy Stream, a shallow waterway cutting through red sand and green vegetation where you can walk and take in the landscape before heading back to your hotel.

The whole outing runs 4.5 hours, so it fits easily into a morning or afternoon without eating up the rest of your day. Children from age 1 are welcome, though infants need to sit on an adult's lap. The jeep is air-conditioned, and the route covers enough ground to show you several distinct sides of Mui Ne in one trip.
