The experience
The ride starts at Di Linh, where the support vehicle drops you after a 75 km drive from Da Lat. You begin with a 5 kilometer uphill through coffee plantations and forest to warm up, then spend the rest of the day descending. The route winds through small minority villages and forested valleys, mixing steep downhill sections with rolling terrain. A final long pass drops you to Highway 1, where the road flattens into a long cruise to the coast. The support vehicle then drives you the remaining 30 minutes to Mui Ne.
The road is mostly paved secondary highway, so you're not fighting rough terrain. The challenge is the distance and the sustained descent. Biking gear (bike, helmet, gloves) is provided, and the support team carries all your luggage, a picnic lunch and water for the day. Because the support vehicle travels with you, you can stop whenever you need to, and the driver can pick you up if the ride becomes too much. The whole day takes seven to nine hours depending on pace and breaks.
