The experience

The day starts with pickup from your hotel in a modern, air-conditioned vehicle and a drive through the mountains toward Charvak Lake. You'll pass the turquoise water and head deeper into rural landscapes, stopping at the quietest panoramic viewpoints along the mountain roads: the spots where professional photographers shoot and where you can see the entire lake from above, with the Greater Chimgan peak in the distance. The guide shares the history and geography of the region as you move through it.

In Nanai village, an ancient settlement in the foothills, you walk through narrow streets past local houses and orchards to meet the residents and see how traditional life continues unchanged. A light trek leads to Nanai waterfall, where you can rest by the rushing water, photograph the rock formations and breathe the cool mountain air the village is known for. The village sits at an elevation that keeps it much cooler than Tashkent, making it a refuge from summer heat.

The cable car at Chinorkent carries you up the mountain in a modern cabin with 360-degree views of the valleys and distant Tien Shan peaks. At the top station, an observation area opens onto the entire region: the landscape shifts with the seasons, from spring green to winter snow.
