Your guide is a local wine enthusiast and driver rolled into one. Many are University of Michigan or Michigan State graduates who know the region and can point you toward what suits your taste. Wine samples are included. If you want to buy flights, bottles or glasses at any stop, those cost extra and range from $8 to $50 depending on what you choose.

Pickup happens in Elk Rapids, or anywhere in the Torch Lake area for larger groups. You travel in a luxury GMC Yukon or Tahoe: the kind of vehicle that seats your group without splitting it across a party bus. Semi-private tours combine couples and small groups. If your party is six or seven, you'll likely have your own vehicle. Groups get a complimentary bottle of wine to take home. The air conditioning runs the whole time, and your guide handles all the driving so you can taste without worrying about the road.
