The experience
The Quicksilver leaves Ma'alaea Harbor as the light starts to soften, and you're seated at a table with room to move. The catamaran's design keeps spacing generous, so you're not squeezed shoulder-to-shoulder the way you would be in a restaurant. The crew brings your Caesar salad with homemade croutons and warm breadsticks first, then your main course: you choose between fresh island fish with lemon butter caper sauce, rosemary garlic prime rib, kiawe smoked baby back ribs, roasted chicken leg and thigh, or penne pasta with Thai basil marinara if you're vegetarian. Steamed rice and sautéed vegetables come alongside. The two hours give you time to eat without rushing, and the catamaran's motion is steady enough that you can relax into it.
Cocktails are part of the deal. Your first two alcoholic drinks are free, and any after that run five dollars. Unlimited soda, juice and water flow throughout. Island-style music plays on deck, and the crew moves around the tables keeping things smooth. Dessert arrives near the end: double-layer chocolate cake or New York style cheesecake. By then the sun is usually down or nearly there, and the water has turned dark.
Check in 30 minutes before departure at Boss Frog's in the Ma'alaea Harbor Shops building. You'll need to park at the harbor shops lot yourself. That's not included, and neither is a tip for the crew, though cash on hand makes it easy if you want to leave one. Bring a valid photo ID if you're drinking. The cruise runs in most weather, so dress for wind and spray even if the forecast looks calm.
