A master naturalist leads the paddle, not just points out what swims past.

A 90-minute guided paddle boarding tour through Jupiter's mangroves and the waterways of John d. MacArthur State Park on Singer Island, led by a Florida native master naturalist. You paddle at a slow pace suited to spotting marine life (dolphins, manatees, sea turtles, rays and birds), while the guide explains the ecosystems you move through. All paddle boards, paddles, life jackets and whistles are provided. The minimum age is 14.

The experience

You start on land with a quick lesson in paddling technique and a rundown of the morning's conditions, then push out onto the water. The route shifts based on conditions and the group's paddling level (you might head toward the Jupiter Lighthouse, Fullerton Island or the Loxahatchee River), but every path runs through mangrove areas where marine life congregates. The pace is deliberately slow, built around watching rather than distance.

The guide is a Florida native trained as a master naturalist, which means they know what you're looking at and why it matters. Sea turtles, spotted eagle rays, horseshoe crabs, rays and starfish show up regularly. Dolphins and manatees are common enough that the operator mentions them as routine sightings. Birds work the shoreline. The whole thing unfolds over 90 minutes, which is long enough to paddle into real habitat but short enough to fit into a morning without eating the rest of your day.

What’s included

Is this one for you?The slow pace and early start are built into the tour itself (they're what make the wildlife spotting work), so this suits anyone who wants to watch rather than rush, and who doesn't mind being on the water before the sun fully rises.
