The experience

The tour starts with hotel pickup in downtown St Louis, then moves straight to the Gateway Riverboat for a cruise along the Mississippi River with views of the Gateway Arch and the city skyline. After returning from the water, your guide leads a narrated drive through the city, passing the Basilica of Saint Louis (a historic cathedral dating to the 1800s), Busch Stadium, City Hall, Tower Grove Park, the St. Louis Art Museum, and the Botanical Garden. The whole experience runs about three hours and ends with drop-off back at your hotel.

The riverboat cruise operates seasonally from March through November. During the off-season months, the tour focuses on the guided drive alone. Your guide provides narration throughout the driving portion, pointing out the significance of each landmark as you pass. The tour suits all fitness levels, and infants or small children can ride in a pram or stroller if needed.
