Your guide brings snorkeling equipment, points out marine life including dolphins when they appear, and can join you in the water. The trip runs four hours and includes water, snacks and ice.

The experience

Your licensed captain introduces you to either the Gulf of Mexico backcountry or the Atlantic's clear waters: whichever conditions favor that day. The guide knows the Lower Keys thoroughly and adjusts the route based on wind, weather and what you want to do, so no two trips are quite the same. If you want to kayak instead of or alongside snorkeling, you can rent up to two kayaks for $25 each. If you want the guide in the water pointing things out, just let him know ahead of time.

Snorkeling equipment is provided (tell the operator your sizes when you book). Dolphins show up sometimes. The boat carries bottled water, snacks and a cooler with ice for the four-hour outing. Kids are welcome, and service animals can come along.
