Step-by-step itinerary
Bay cruise and snorkeling excursion
- Begin tour at Sabine Marina
- Cruise bay with local USCG Captain
- Stop for 30-45 minute snorkeling
- Spot dolphins and marine wildlife
The experience
The boat departs from Sabine Marina on Pensacola Beach, docked behind The Frisky Dolphin at Little Sabine Bay. Your USCG captain handles navigation and shares facts about the bay's history and local marine life as you cruise toward the snorkel site. The reef stop runs 30–45 minutes. You'll have the adult snorkel sets provided on board, though you're welcome to bring your own gear.
While you're underwater, the captain keeps watch from above and stays alert for dolphins and other wildlife. The cruise itself is part of the experience: on the way out and back, you'll pass historical sites visible from the water and have time to scan the bay for the local dolphins that frequent the area. The whole outing runs two hours, which means you can fit it into a morning or afternoon without losing the rest of your day in Pensacola.
Soda, pop and bottled water are on board. The maximum group size of six keeps things manageable and gives everyone space to move around the boat and get in and out of the water without crowding.
What’s included
- Adult snorkel sets for up to six passengers.
- soda, pop and bottled water.
- a USCG-licensed captain providing live narration in English about local marine life, dolphins and historical sites visible from the water.

Is this one for you?Two hours is short enough to fit around other plans in Pensacola, but long enough to spend 30–45 minutes actually underwater at the reef. If you want a full-day snorkeling expedition, this won't give you that. If you want to snorkel without devoting your whole day to it, the timing works.

Will we see dolphins on this tour?
Dolphins are local to Pensacola Bay and the captain keeps an eye out for them both during the cruise and while you're snorkeling. Sightings aren't guaranteed, but the captain will point them out if they appear above or below the water.
How long is the whole tour, and what happens besides snorkeling?

Can I bring my own snorkel gear?
Yes, you can bring your own equipment. Adult snorkel sets are provided on board, so you don't need to bring your own unless you prefer to use your own gear.
