The Experience

The day starts at your cruise dock in Skagway, where you meet your guide and board for an entertaining drive through downtown and along nine miles of stunning coastline. Once you reach the base in Dyea, you transfer into a customized Unimog—an all-wheel drive vehicle built for the rugged mountain road ahead. The climb itself is part of the experience: you'll see the rainforest and the waterfalls you're about to fly over rising up around you as the vehicle climbs higher.

At the top, your guide walks you through the safety gear and what to expect on the course. Then you clip in and launch. The ziplines bring you directly above the waterfalls—close enough to feel the mist as you pass—and the longest line stretches 750 feet, longer than two football fields combined. You control your own speed with a brake system, so you can take it slow or let go and reach up to 45 miles per hour. Between the lines, four state-of-the-art suspension bridges give you solid ground to stand on and take photos of the landscape and each other.

After you finish the course, you ride the Unimog back down the mountain to your bus, with time to look over your pictures and talk through the run. The whole expedition takes about four hours from dock to return.
