The Experience

What if you walked into a locked room with nothing but clues, your wits, and five strangers who suddenly became your only way out? That's the setup at The Escape Game San Antonio, tucked into The Rim shopping center where you can grab dinner before or after without leaving the complex. You've got exactly 60 minutes to find hidden clues, solve puzzles, and complete whatever mission the room throws at you — whether that's breaking out of a prison, finding gold in the California hills, or piloting a submarine through The Depths. A game guide stays with your team the whole time, stepping in if you get stuck, but mostly watching you figure it out together.

The five rooms aren't designed to scare you or trap you in darkness. They're built around teamwork and communication — you need someone spotting details, someone thinking three steps ahead, someone asking questions out loud. Prison Break is their hardest game; Playground is lighter and works for younger kids (though an adult has to be in the room with anyone under 15). Groups run up to 8 players in most rooms, 12 in Playground, and if you don't book the whole space, you might share it with other teams, which honestly changes the energy — some people love that, some don't. The whole thing takes about 90 minutes total: 15 minutes before to get briefed, 60 minutes in the room, then 15 minutes after to debrief and take photos while the adrenaline is still pumping.
