The Experience

First thing I remember is the way the sun hit the canyon walls—kind of gold and pink at once, even though it was barely 9 a.m. We’d just parked at the headquarters (which honestly felt more like someone’s backyard than a business), met our guides, and tried not to look too awkward in the life jackets.
