The experience
You ride an eBike through Morrison before climbing to the top of Red Rocks Amphitheatre, one of the world's most famous music venues, where you get close-up views and learn the history of the landmark. The motor handles the steep grades (the whole point of the eBike format), so the climbing doesn't depend on your fitness level. From there, the route heads to Dinosaur Ridge, where you walk alongside real fossilized dinosaur tracks and see bones from Colorado's prehistoric past, a detail you won't encounter on a standard bike ride.
The standard route runs about 18.5 miles and takes roughly 3 hours, though the exact distance shifts with the group's pace and how long you spend at each stop. If the group is moving well and time allows, the ride extends through scenic areas of Golden, passing the Jefferson County Courthouse, Fossil Trace Golf Club, and the Lakota Hills neighborhood. A live guide leads in English and points out the history and geology as you go. Note that on concert days, Red Rocks sometimes closes between 2 and 3 p.m., but since the 9:30 a.m. tour visits first, you often arrive before the closure. The 1:30 p.m. tour follows the same route and may have limited access inside the amphitheater, though the ride and views around it remain strong.
eBikes come with helmets, and you get gloves and sunglasses or goggles to keep the sun and wind out of your eyes. Panniers (one small bag on top and one on the side) hold your belongings. Water and snacks are provided along the way. The smallest bike fits riders 4 foot 8 and up. The rest are for 5 foot and above, so check your height before booking if you're on the shorter end.
What’s included
- eBike and helmet.
- bottled water and snacks.
