Step-by-step itinerary
Half-day mountain biking adventure
- Meet experienced mountain-biking guide
- Choose beginner or intermediate level
- Ride selected Front Range trails
- Enjoy sports drink and energy bar
The experience
Your guide meets you and assesses your riding style and fitness before choosing which trails fit your day. Beginner and intermediate options both run the same half-day window, so the difference is the terrain and pace, not the time commitment. The guide carries the route knowledge and adjusts on the fly if a section feels too steep or too mellow, which means you're not locked into a preset itinerary the way you would be on a group tour with fixed stops.
The trails themselves wind through the Front Range, the gateway to the Rocky Mountains, and may include portions of the 486-mile Colorado Trail or the many systems that branch through the foothills. You'll cover ground at a pace that keeps you moving without leaving you gassed, and the guide brings a sports drink and energy bar so you can refuel without stopping at a trailhead shop. Three hours on the bike is long enough to feel like a real ride and short enough to fit into a morning or afternoon without eating your whole day.
What you bring is fitness: the operator asks for above-average physical condition and a moderate level of bike handling. Contact the supplier 24 hours before departure to confirm conditions and expectations. Failure to reconfirm may result in cancellation without refund. Minimum group numbers apply, and if the group falls short after confirmation, you'll be offered an alternative or a full refund.

Is this one for you?Pick the beginner option if you're new to mountain biking or haven't ridden in years. Pick intermediate if you're comfortable on technical terrain and want to push the pace. Either way, your guide customizes the route to your actual level on the day, so you're not locked into a preset itinerary that assumes everyone rides the same.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
Can I choose between beginner and intermediate trails on the same tour?
Yes. You pick your level when you book (either Half-Day Beginner or Half-Day Intermediate), and your guide selects trails that match that choice. The guide also assesses your riding style on the day and adjusts the route if needed.
What trails will I ride on?
Your guide picks from the Front Range trail systems based on your level. You may ride a portion of the legendary 486-mile Colorado Trail or one of the many trails that wind through the foothills, depending on conditions and your group's pace.
How long is the ride, and what's included to eat and drink?
The tour runs for three hours. Your guide provides a sports drink and an energy bar during the ride so you can refuel without stopping at a shop.
What happens if I'm not fit enough or change my mind about my skill level?
Contact the supplier 24 hours before your departure to discuss your fitness level and experience. The guide will also assess you on the day and can adjust the route if a trail feels too demanding, but the operator does ask for above-average physical fitness and a moderate level of bike-handling skill.
What's included in the booking, and what do I need to bring?
Your guide, helmet, mountain bike, energy bar, and sports drink are all included. You'll need to bring water, wear appropriate clothing for the weather, and have a valid form of ID. Transport from Denver can be added for an extra fee but is not included in the base price.
