The Experience

The first thing that hit me wasn’t the heat—it was the color. Red Rock Canyon just kind of glows, even before sunrise. I remember standing by the van (they picked us up right at our hotel, which honestly saved us from getting lost in Vegas traffic), trying to adjust my helmet while the guide, Mike, handed out bikes and cracked a joke about “desert hair.” My hands smelled faintly like chain oil.
