You’ll get your own private boat, skip the crowds, and explore Oahu’s south shore with a local captain who knows where to find turtles, dolphins, and colorful reefs. It’s relaxed, flexible, and all about your group—just bring your sense of adventure.
The morning air felt salty and warm as we stepped onto the boat at Kewalo Basin. Our captain, Kaleo, greeted us with a grin—he grew up surfing these waters and knew every hidden cove. We zipped past Diamond Head, the wind tugging at our hats, while he pointed out a pod of spinner dolphins leaping just off the port side. You could actually hear their clicks if you listened close enough over the hum of the engine.
We anchored near a quiet reef—no other boats in sight. I slipped into the water and right away spotted a green sea turtle gliding below. The water was so clear I could see tiny yellow tangs darting around coral heads. Kaleo handed us snorkel gear and tossed in some tips about local fish species (he even showed us how to spot a humuhumunukunukuapua‘a). After an hour or so, we climbed back aboard, salty and grinning, passing by a fisherman selling fresh poke right on the dock as we returned to harbor.
Yes! Kids love spotting turtles and dolphins. Just let us know ages when you book so we can bring smaller snorkel masks if needed.
Absolutely—just tell your captain what you’re hoping to see or do. We’ll do our best to make it happen based on weather and ocean conditions.
You’ll want sunscreen (reef-safe), towels, maybe a light jacket if it’s breezy early in the day, and snacks or drinks if you like.
Your private charter includes all snorkel equipment—masks, fins, snorkels—and full attention from your captain and crew. Just show up ready for fun!
